Pravo ucesca na Evropskom kupu klubova u 2008. godini stekli su sledeci klubovi:
1. SK "Buducnost" i SK "Elektroprivreda" u muskoj, ondosno
2. SK "T-com" i SK "7. oktobar" u zenskoj konkurenciji.
Do 11. jula je rok za prijave.
Navedeni klubovi mole se da procitaju propozicije i da do 8. jula ili:
a) Otkazu ucesce
b) Spreme sve podatke o igracima koji ucestvuju kao i novac za uplatu onako kako to propozicije predvidjaju.

The European Chess Union herewith announces the European Club Cup 2008 (24th European Club Cup for Men, 13th European Club Cup for Women). The tournament will be held in Kallithea (Greece) from Thursday 16th until Friday 24th October. In this letter you will find the most important details concerning the competition. You are friendly asked to read all information carefully!

TOURNAMENT RULES
The valid regulations to be followed are the "ECU Tournament Rules" approved by the General Assembly of the European Chess Union. Each European federation is allowed to take part in this competition. According to the Rules for the European Club Cup participation is open to:
- Linex Magic-Merida (Spain), the current cup holder in the men's competition
- Cercle d’Echecs de Monte Carlo (Monaco), the current cup holder in the women's competition
- two clubs per federation in which a national team championship is organised
- one club per federation in which no national team championship is organised
- Greece, the organising federation, is entitled to enter an additional team
- a third club is allowed to that federation(s) in which a national team championship is organised provided that at least 20 grandmasters and/or players with a FIDE-rating over 2600 have participated in this national team championship.
- one additional club for the federations which are ranked in the first five places of the federation ranking list. For the competition 2008 the federations are Russia, France, Israel, Belarus and Poland.
REMARKS
- Rate of play: 40 moves in 90 minutes and 30 minutes to finish the game, + 30 seconds additional time per move.
- Regarding foreigners, ECU Tournament Regulations F1.2 will be followed strictly.
- Attention is drawn to the fact that this competition is offering the possibility to achieve GM- or IM-norms based on 7 games.
- No teams of federations which have financial arrears with respect to the European Chess Union will be allowed to enter the competition.
PRIZES AND SPECIAL OFFER FOR CLUBS AND PLAYERS
Prize fund:
Men's: For team ranking: 15.000 €;
Women's: For team ranking: 5.000 €;
For the individual boards there are prizes laptops – video and digital cameras and high technology gadgets in a total amount of 10.000 euros provided by the event sponsors.
The Organizing Committee offers free accommodation F/B in a single room for 7 nights for each team player equal or over 2.700 fide rating in the latest list (24 players in current list). The quested players will be accommodated in the same hotel with the rest of their team.
TEAMS DRESSING CODE – PRESS
- ECU and Organizing Committee encourages all the teams in a same sports appearance during the games.
- Organizing Committee will propose to participating teams special designed T-Shirts with a player’s number and possible player’s name. The T-Shirts will be offered in a special dressing package in a reasonable price on request. More details will be announced in later time.
- By the end of each round captains and team players of the first two matches must be available for the daily press conference.

Every federation that intends to participate with one or more teams must inform the organizing committee (c/o by e-mail

It is allowed to send the letter of acceptance by email or by fax. The letter of acceptance shall include the full name, address, telephone and fax number, and the email address of the participating club(s). All entries have to be put forward by the respective federation: entries not supported by the federation will not be accepted! At the same time each federation should pay 300 € per participating club for the men’s competition and 200 € per participating club for the women’s competition to the bank account of the European Chess Union

The basic players' list of a club should be sent to the respective Tournament Director of the European Chess Union before July 6, 2008.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THE MEN'S AND WOMEN’S COMPETITION
In order to avoid the problem of last-minute team changes that are not in accordance with the ECU Club Cup Tournament Rules each federation has to send a copy of the club list(s) as entered for the respective national team competition to the respective Tournament Director.

ACCOMMODATION
Official Hotels are (same complex): Prices are per day per person with breakfast and one meal (H/B).
THEOPHANO IMPERIAL PALACE - 5 stars: (Grand Opening 2008) 72 euro per person in double room – 100 euro per person in single room.
ATHOS PALACE HOTEL- 4 stars (Renovation 2006) 55 euro per person in double room – 70 euro per person in single room
MACEDONIAN SUN - 3 stars (Renovation 2007) 47 euro per person in double room - 60 euro per person in single room
Additional meals in buffer: 10 euro per meal
The players who wants to stay out of the hotel will pay a compensation fee to organisers 100 € per person.
BOOKING AND PAYMENTS
The booking of rooms is made only through the Organizing Committee. Participants can not make reservations in the official hotel without notice of official organisers.
Before Friday July 11th, a deposit of 100 € per person + transportation cost (if requested) must be made for the booking of rooms and transportation. After payment in bank, each clubs must fax a copy of the bank transfer to the Organizing Committee that will confirm the exact hotel reservations.

All payments have to be done before start of round 1st of the tournament.
Each participant should send a copy of their photo to organisers by e-mail for producing a badge. If picture do not come will be captured on venue by organisers and 3 € for each picture will be charged.
The cost of bank transfer will be charged to participants.
TRANSPORTATION
The cost of transportation (bus or taxi - according O.C. Schedule) from Thessaloniki airport (80 km) to the Tournament Venue (G-Hotels Grand Resort) with return is 60 EUR per person. The cost of bus transportation from Thessaloniki Railway (100 km) station to the Tournament Venue (G-Hotels Grand Resort) with return on is 70 EUR per person. Transportation in other days is possible after personal requests.
VISA INFORMATION
Teams or players needing visa are requested to contact the Organizing Committee before August 1st. If necessary teams or players can contact the Tournament Director in order to receive a confirmation of their participation to the competition.
TOURNAMENT BULLETIN Tournament Games will be available for downloading each day. A final bulletin-magazine with results and standings will be distributed to the teams.
