Montenegro Chess Federation, CC ”Mimosa” – Tivat and HTC „Mimoza” –Tivat under auspice of the Municipality of Tivat are organising international chess tournament Balkan grand prix „TIVAT 2011 - Memorial Branko Vukmanovic”
The tournament will be held from 16 - 24 April 2011 according Swiss System (9 rounds). Games will be played in the newly opened assembly hall of the Municipality of Tivat on Magnolia Square (50 meters from the hotel „Mimoza”) according following schedule:

Prize fund is 7.550,00 € and it will be devided on 12 regular and 8 special prize.
Regular prizes (6.750,00 €): 1. 1.300,00 € 7. 450,00 € 2. 1.000,00 € 8. 400,00 € 3. 800,00 € 9. 350,00 € 4. 650,00 € 10. 300,00 € 5. 550,00 € 11. 250,00 € 6. 500,00 € 12. 200,00 €
The prizes will be divided by Hort criteria and can’t be combined (Each player can receive one prize the most).
Special prizes (800,00 €):
1. Best placed veteran (born 1951 and older) 100,00 €
2. Best placed women 100,00 €
3. Best placed junior (born 1991. and younger) 100,00 €
4. Best placed unrated players and players with rating under 1800 100,00 €
5. Best placed player with rating 1801 – 2000 100,00 €
6. Best placed player with rating 2001 – 2200 100,00 €
7. Best placed player with rating 2201 – 2300 100,00 €
8. Best placed unrewarded player member of the CC “Mimoza“ 100,00 €
Remark: In order prize to be awarded in one of the mentioned categories, at list three players must participate in that category. These prizes can’t be divided.
Important information's about tournament:
- Tournament will be rated at FIDE
- The tournament is scored for the final standings for „Balkan prix“ open tournaments
- Organiser guaranty participation of minimum 20 foreign players necessary criteria for the receiving norms for international titles.
- The tournament will be played by a 9-round Swiss System (computer pairing)
- The playing time will be 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.
Organiser will provide chess sets for all participants.
Entry fee is 25 Euro. Grandmasters, players with rating over 2500 as well as invited players are not in obligation to pay entry fee.
Delegated representatives of the Balkan chess federations and the invited players are entitled to free lodging.
Registration deadline : April 15, 2011 until 14,30 h.
Closing ceremony and prize awardidng will take place 30 minutes after the last round.
Accommodation is provided in hotels, „Pine” and „Mimosa”:
- full board in double room per person per day 21 Euro;
- full board in single room per day 27 Euro.
The price does not include residence tax, which is 1,20 Euro per day. Number of single rooms is limited.
